64% of rural Indian women rely on nature for income, leading to queries. Do govt policies acknowledge this? Do we honor women’s wisdom? How do women tackle state barriers to accessing resources? The film delves into these through four cases: Karnataka fisherwomen battling dwindling fish stocks, Apatani Women in Arunachal Pradesh managing fish-paddy farming with an uncertain future, Adivasi and Dalit women in Kashipur, Orissa fighting for rights over Hill Broom, and women in Sonebhadra battling to protect their land. UNDP-funded documentary completed in May 2005 after 1.5 years.
